MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) form the backbone of our economy, and our line-up of tailored products enables these businesses to grow and scale effectively. Following the success of our MSME Summit, where attendees explored our numerous payment products and their benefits, networked with peers, and won prizes like free website development and grants of up to N1 million, we are now diving deeper into fostering solutions with lasting impact.
We are thrilled to announce the upcoming Payaza Fintech Hackathon 3.0, designed to tackle the critical challenges facing MSMEs across Africa through cutting-edge, AI-powered financial solutions. Set for the 20th and 21st of November, 2024, the hackathon seeks participants ready to develop groundbreaking solutions that expand financial accessibility and drive sustainable growth.
In collaboration with UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization), Tech4Dev, and sponsors Petrocam Trading (Pty) Ltd and Buuch Energy, the Payaza FinTech Hackathon 3.0 challenges teams to develop solutions that align with the theme: AI-Powered Financial Inclusion for MSMEs: Empowering Small Businesses through AI-Driven Financial Solutions. By participating, innovators will help create tools that elevate financial accessibility and strengthen communities, ultimately fostering economic growth.
Participants will work collaboratively, guided by mentors, to brainstorm, develop, and showcase AI-driven fintech solutions that address MSME challenges. Solutions should aim to increase efficiency, scalability, and inclusion, as outlined in the hackathon’s problem statements and case studies.

- Grand Prize: $5,000 + access to the exclusive 10-week Payaza Incubator Program.
- First Runner-Up: $3,000.
- Second Runner-Up: $1,000.
The Payaza Incubator Program will help the grand prize winners refine their solutions with mentors and industry leaders. At the end of the program, they’ll have the opportunity to pitch to investors and potential partners. Additionally, all participants will be welcomed into the Payaza Developers Circle, fostering continuous learning and collaboration.
